Maintenance Operator I
The Town of South Hill has a full time permanent job opening available that requires the performance of a variety of responsible unskilled and semiskilled manual work with the Public Works Department. Primary responsibilities are to assist in the completion of repairs and maintenance of the water distribution and the sewer collection systems. Other duties will be assigned as needed. Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal directions; to complete required paperwork legibly and without error or omission; and to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Valid Virginia Driver’s License required. Salary starts at $9.47/hour and could be greater depending on experience. Must be able to work overtime when necessary. Drug screen, and DMV and criminal background checks required.
