the forms can be downloaded by clicking on the below links.

All new construction, renovations, or additions to existing structures require a building permit.
All businesses (except contractors and peddlers) must have a definite place of business (can be their residence) within the corporate limits of South Hill to be sold a business license. If they are not located within South Hill, a license cannot be obtained. The fee varies upon type of business.
A permit for yard sales is required (no fee and only four per year). They may only be held on residential property.

Vehicle Window Decals
The Town of South Hill and Mecklenburg County vehicle
window decals are sold for $25 per year at the
South Hill Chamber of
Commerce, (434) 447-4547. Both must be purchased before
April 1 to avoid a penalty.
Vehicles must be inspected annually.

The Town of South Hill purchases its water wholesale from the Roanoke River Service Authority (434) 689-7772, which began operation of its new water plant located on Lake Gaston in September of 2002. Average daily use is 1.5 million gallons, and the maximum daily capacity is 4.0 million gallons for the Authority. The Town has overhead storage capacity of 2.5 million gallons.
The Town has implemented automatic bank drafts for utility bills. Utility bills are mailed the last day of each month and are payable on the 21st of each month. Staff initiates the automatic draft on the 15th of each month. If you are interested in participating, please complete the Authorization Agreement for Direct Payments (ACH Debits) Form. Forms can be printed out, filled in and mailed or faxed to the Town Office or may be presented in person [fax no. (434) 447-5064].
Some local banks allow water bills to be paid online. Please check with your bank to see if this service is provided.
Irrigation water is considered a contaminant and has the potential to flow back into the public water system. Anyone that has an irrigation system must have a backflow preventer and a separate meter. The backflow prevention assembly must comply with the Town ordinance; a plumbing permit is required. The device must be tested after installation and annually thereafter by a licensed tester.
Sewage
Services are provided for a monthly fee. Sewer rates
are 100% x the water rate. The minimum bill for residential
water and sewer is $5. The minimum bill for commercial water
and sewer is $35.72.
The Town of South Hill treats approximately 900,000 gallons of sewage per day. The maximum treatment capacity of the Town's sewage plant is 2.0 million gallons per day (tertiary treatment).
To help prevent sewer backups and overflows, do not: (1) pour fats, oils and grease from cooking down the drain; (2) use the toilet as a wastebucket; or (3) use the sewer as a means of disposing food scraps.
Sanitation
Sanitation Schedule 2008
The Town of South Hill provides weekly collection service to
residential customers for $10 per month. Brush and leaf
collection on a seasonal basis are included in the fee. Special bulky items such
as furniture may be collected by calling the Town Shop at (434)
447-3228.
Solid Waste Disposal
Mecklenburg County operates a landfill which accepts
non-hazardous industrial waste.
The Town of South Hill maintains streets located within the Town limits.
