South Hill's infrastructure is quite sophisticated in spite of our tranquil setting.

Our industrial parks offer natural gas, DSL switching, and redundant fiber optics. Digital switching and T-1/T-3 capability is available throughout the area. Water and wastewater capacity is also a significant regional asset, as is an abundant supply of electrical power. The infrastructure of the Lake Country Region provides business a solid foundation for success.

  • South Hill’s industrial parks are a part of MBC’s GigaPark™ initiative.
  • Businesses locating in a GigaPark™ will have direct access to a multitude of carriers who are located in key interconnection facilities in Ashburn, Virginia; McLean, Virginia; and Atlanta, Georgia.
  • MBC can provide direct connectivity from a GigaPark™ to the NCR in Culpeper.

By 2020, Dominion Energy will invest more than $11 billion in Virginia. This investment includes two new highly efficient natural gas power plants located in southern Virginia and renovation and expansion of the power grid.

Dominion is one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy, with a portfolio of approximately 24,600 megawatts of generation, 12,400 miles of natural gas transmission gathering and storage pipeline, and 5,455 miles of electric transmission lines.
